Who We Are
Established in October 2010, BITS was born out of a need for reliable computer repair services in Bournemouth. Our founders saw a gap in the market—most repair shops were focused on phones, with computer services offered as an afterthought. On top of that, customers faced the frustration of hidden pricing, often waiting days for a quote. By the time you received a quote, the hassle of going elsewhere felt like too much. BITS set out to change that with transparent, upfront pricing and a sole focus on computers.
Our Journey
Initially, we were just a small group of people working on a project we believed in. Over time, our team steadily grew, welcoming experienced technicians from various backgrounds, all with a shared interest—the humble Apple Mac. Drawn by its reliability, forward-thinking design, and ease of repair, we dedicated our focus to specialising in Apple Macs.
Nationwide Service
Though we started in Bournemouth, working out of two floors, we now serve the entire nation. BITS has become the approved computer repair company for Bournemouth University, Arts University Bournemouth, and Bournemouth & Poole College, serving both students and staff. Whenever students require a repair, they are directed to us.
Global Reach
We are one of the first repair providers in the country—and worldwide—to offer LCD-only replacements. This innovation has brought us requests from across the globe, including countries such as the Netherlands, Sweden, and Bangladesh. We are also one of the only stores to have invested in a forensic grade laminar flow hood to mimic factory conditions for screen repairs.

At BITS, we continuously reinvest in our store, bringing in better tools, software, and security than you’d find in an Apple Store. Unlike many others, we never outsource. When you send your Mac to us, it stays in our hands from start to finish, leaving only when we securely return it through Royal Mail.

I recently had my 2017 iMac fail. I put quote requests out none replied, only bits. I was told the price for repairs up front. They fitted a new power supply which got it working but found another fault on the motherboard which they fixed. I was kept informed and had explanation of my repairs. I would recommend them for a first class price and service. Well done to all.

This company is great. I dropped my MacBook and needed a new screen started of and messaged them on their WhatsApp link and they gave me costs and explained the process. When I arrived there the lady on the reception was really nice had a small chat and we picked it up later that day and Mac screen is like new really impressed with their services. After shopping around for a reasonably priced MacBook Air screen replacement and receiving several quotes that were far from affordable, I came across BITS through a recommendation on Perplexity.
From the outset, their pricing, repair process, and use of genuine parts were clearly explained and very reassuring. They arranged free collection via Royal Mail, the repair was completed within 24 hours, and the device was delivered back to me the very next working day.

I had a really positive experience of BITS. I took in my iMac in with a suspected power supply issue, mid-afternoon. The following morning (just 18 hours later) I was contacted to say that the replacement power supply was fitted and diagnostic checks were complete. I went in to collect and was given space and time to start-up and check the computer.
I'm really pleased with the service as well as the courteous and efficient dealings with Muhammad and Adam. Good price too, I imagine a fraction of the Apple price!

Very helpful, took my laptop for the first time and got it fixed super quickly. There seemed to be a problem a little after with the screen, took it in again and they sorted it out very quickly again and with no fuzz under the warranty, even gave me advice on other non-related problems I had. Decent!

Great job. My daughter had destroyed the screen and chassis of her iPad pro 12.9 and then it stopped working. BITS were up front and transparent about costs, they ordered a new motherboard, replaced the screen and put in a new charging port. All for a fair price. Good comms, nice people. I was worried about getting ripped off when searching for someone to do the repair work. I made a good choice, recommend💯,thanks guys 👍

We've been at our Bournemouth workshop in Winton since 2010 — not a faceless industrial estate, so you can drop in if you prefer.
Our facility is equipped with the best available security measures, including 4K CCTV cameras that record video and audio 24/7, and a robust redundant alarm system featuring door sensors, shock sensors, glass break detectors, radar, and motion sensors. Both CCTV footage and alarm status are remotely monitored, allowing for a swift response from staff and police officers.
Additionally, the surrounding area is monitored by Council and Police CCTV, continuously observed at a nearby police station, just half a mile away, ensuring rapid response times. In the event of any attempted breach, alarms are triggered immediately, notifying staff and police, even before entry is gained. Every exit is covered by CCTV, enabling police to track any intruder’s movements in real time.
