Logic Board Repair
When your Mac fails to boot correctly or experiences random crashes, it is often caused by a serious system error known as a kernel panic. Essentially, this means macOS has encountered a critical issue that it cannot resolve, forcing the system to restart in an attempt to recover. While occasional kernel panics may happen due to software conflicts, frequent or persistent panics typically point to an underlying hardware issue.
In most cases, hardware-related kernel panics are linked to problems with the logic board, which serves as the main circuit board of your Mac. The logic board houses essential components like the CPU, GPU, memory, and controllers, all of which are crucial for your Mac’s stability. A fault in any of these components can lead to kernel panics, random crashes, or failure to boot.

In many cases, such issues can also point to liquid damage. Even a small amount of liquid can cause corrosion on sensitive chips located on the logic board. This corrosion can disrupt the flow of power and prevent essential components from receiving the correct electrical signals, resulting in boot failures or unpredictable behavior.
Another common culprit for MacBook boot issues is failed macOS upgrades. Upgrade failures can happen for several reasons, but a particularly common one is when the storage is full during an update. This lack of available space can lead to incomplete installations, damaging essential system files and preventing the Mac from booting properly.

We've been at our Bournemouth workshop in Winton since 2010 — not a faceless industrial estate, so you can drop in if you prefer.
In over a decade of business, we have heard endless grievances from our customers about other repair shops and even the Apple Store. Lack of transparency about pricing and what work is actually required is the most frequent complaint.
Shops regularly underquote, underdiagnose and then the price increases once they have your Mac in their possession. Customers then feel pressured to go ahead and authorise the repair.
To resolve this, we charge a fixed price for our repairs - so you know exactly what you are paying before your Mac leaves your hands- we then give you a full diagnostic and explain how we resolved your issue once our technicians have assessed your Mac.
Fixed, Upfront Pricing. No Surprises.
