The Magic Trackpad is unique to the MacBook – in that when you click, the trackpad doesn’t technically move. The click is actually a simulated click – a vibration created by the ‘Taptic Engine’. On occasion, the Taptic Engine can fail and the trackpad no longer appears to click.
Whilst a full Magic Trackpad replacement can resolve the issue, we can often simply replace the Taptic Engine to resolve the issue.
These Trackpads are also made of glass, so can suffer cracks and chips quite easily – especially if using a camera cover.

Wow, superb super fast service. This morning I knocked a mug of tea over my laptop. I didn't really know where to go, i just needed to find a computer repair place as close as possible that was open on Saturdays. The 1st place I found was no longer there and I searched again while running up the road with my laptop and found I was very close to BITS. And they were open. As all of us our lives are on our laptops, mine certainly is. The guys calmed me down, checked the harddrive while I was there. It was OK thank goodness. As long as knew all my files were OK I relaxed. I left the left the laptop with the BITS team for them to check it over, and a few hours later they let me know that it was OK but a few things had been corroded and needed replacing. Thankfully they had it all in house and were confident they could sort it all before they closed today. And happy days, all good and I collected the laptop up before 5pm. Superbly repaired, very quick service, and at a very good price too - I would have been happy to pay more, it was much cheaper than I had expected. I want to say thank you to all the BITS team. your number is saved in my phone now. And to anyone needing good, honest, fast, no nonsense support you will get great service from BITS. I recently had my 2017 iMac fail. I put quote requests out none replied, only bits. I was told the price for repairs up front. They fitted a new power supply which got it working but found another fault on the motherboard which they fixed. I was kept informed and had explanation of my repairs. I would recommend them for a first class price and service. Well done to all.

This company is great. I dropped my MacBook and needed a new screen started of and messaged them on their WhatsApp link and they gave me costs and explained the process. When I arrived there the lady on the reception was really nice had a small chat and we picked it up later that day and Mac screen is like new really impressed with their services. I had a really positive experience of BITS. I took in my iMac in with a suspected power supply issue, mid-afternoon. The following morning (just 18 hours later) I was contacted to say that the replacement power supply was fitted and diagnostic checks were complete. I went in to collect and was given space and time to start-up and check the computer.
I'm really pleased with the service as well as the courteous and efficient dealings with Muhammad and Adam. Good price too, I imagine a fraction of the Apple price!

Very helpful, took my laptop for the first time and got it fixed super quickly. There seemed to be a problem a little after with the screen, took it in again and they sorted it out very quickly again and with no fuzz under the warranty, even gave me advice on other non-related problems I had. Great job. My daughter had destroyed the screen and chassis of her iPad pro 12.9 and then it stopped working. BITS were up front and transparent about costs, they ordered a new motherboard, replaced the screen and put in a new charging port. All for a fair price. Good comms, nice people. How does the process work?
Step 1: Book Your Repair
Select your issue, followed by your MacBook model, and receive a fixed quote. If you're happy to go ahead, make your booking - and we'll do the rest.
Step 2: Package & Collect
Package your MacBook safely in a plain cardboard box with bubble wrap. On your chosen collection day, Royal Mail will attend with a pre-paid postage label.
Step 3: Repaired & Returned
Your Mac will be assessed and repaired by our technicians. Once your Mac has passed diagnostics, an invoice is emailed and your Mac is packed for postage.
