Do you cover cracked screens in your warranty?

MacBook screens, like any other display, do not crack spontaneously. They require some form of physical force or impact for cracks to appear.
Glass, by its nature, cannot break without an external force or stress applied to it. Its molecular structure and composition prevents it from spontaneously shattering or breaking without any external influence – rapid pressure changes, impact, or rapid temperature changes. There are exceptions for tempered glass which you might find in car windows, house windows, cookware etcetera – but it is impossible for a LCD display to crack by itself; this would violate the laws of physics.

It’s important to note that cracks resulting from such external factors are not covered by warranty, which covers manufacturing defects and workmanship flaws, rather than damages caused by external forces.

Once your Mac is repaired, the screen will not be inherently weaker than other displays – taking good care of your device is paramount, if your Mac is not handled carefully and kept clean, you carry a risk of breaking it again.

We ask customers to treat their Mac with care, as the vast majority of customers trying to claim on warranty are people that have cracked their screens again. For clarity, under no circumstance will we entertain any warranty claim where we have determined the display has any fractures or cracks, regardless of location nor size.
